Waiouru

Outdoor Leaders courses conducted in Waiouru tend to occur during the first school holidays of the year.

Because courses are being run at the same time that the Army is conducting its training there is every chance that staff and students will see Regular Force training being undertaken.  This may be infantry training, signals training as well as Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV) training.

As with Dip Flat in January both cadet and officer outdoor leader training occurs at the same time.

Being Waiouru, course members could experience the classic "four seasons in one day" with snow being known to have fallen during previous courses to be followed by cloudless, sunny days.
