Community assistance from Cadets

The PR stand set up by 22 Sqn and City of Upper Hutt Cadet Corps unit

On a late February Sunday cadets from No. 22 (City of Upper Hutt) Squadron , ATC and the City of Upper Hutt Cadet Corps unit were fully involved assisting at the Pelorus Trust Upper Hutt Summer Carnival.

They had two major tasks.  One was to man the entry gates collecting entry fees and the other was to achieve a PR exercise promoting NZ Cadet Forces and the two Cadet Units in particular

A glider loaned from No.2 (Hutt City) Squadron and No.21 (Masterton) Squadron was irresistible attracting many visitors to the PR display. Assistance with the display was also provided by Central Area Training and Support Unit who provided the area's recruitment trailer.

Opportunities for cadets to participate in activities during their off-duty periods were enthusiastically taken up with cadets experiencing helicopter flights. The day concluded with all enjoying a sponsored BBQ as the sun began to set.

No.22 Squadron and the City of Upper Hutt Cadet Corps units thank all the event organisers and staff of the Pelorus Trust for giving them the opportunity to participate in this great community event.
